Coal and Nuclear
Joe joined Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) out of college. PECo was a top US electric utility with a strong engineering pedigree achieving impressive power plant milestones over many decades. It was a great place to start a career in the electric power industry. PECo had operating nuclear projects where Joe worked on some early career projects, and PECo was constructing new nuclear projects. Joe primarily worked on modifications and retrofit projects for PECo’s legacy fossil fuel generation fleet. Role: Engineer and Project Manager.
AES acquired a Midwest utility and Joe negotiated an EPC contract for a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) retrofit project for two 500-megawatt coal fired units. The EPC contract value was in excess of $100 million. Role: EPC Contract Management.
